2023 Available Programs & Fees
Pre-CanSkate
This program is for NEW Skaters or NEW to Skate Canada Program and introduces the fundamental skating skills such as balance and glide by using fun interactive games and activities.
Upon mastering the skills in this program, skaters will move into our CanSkate Program.
If your child has not participated in the CanSkate program prior, please register them for Pre-CanSkate. Coaches will access to determine when they move to CanSkate.
Skaters must be 3 years of age by December 31, 2023.
Program Sessions are held on Friday Nights
(Note: Skaters will be notified prior to with which session they are to attend and the time)
TOTAL COST $326 (Includes Skate Canada Insurance Fee)
CanSkate
This program is for returning Skaters, who already have the fundamental skating skills such as balance and glide from previous Skate Canada Program experience.
Skaters must be in CanSkate Stage 2 and up.
Skaters must be 4 years of age by December 31, 2023.
Program Sessions are held on Monday Nights
(Note: Skaters will be notified prior to with which session they are to attend and the time)
TOTAL COST $336 (Includes Skate Canada Insurance Fee)
JR STAR Figure Skating
This program is an Introduction to Figure Skating (IntroStarSkate). Offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, freeskate and interpretive skating.
Skaters must be in CanSkate Stage 5 and up.
Program Sessions are held on Monday Nights (4:00pm to 5:05pm)
TOTAL COST $386 (Includes Skate Canada Insurance Fee)
STAR Figure Skating
Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about! STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, freeskate and interpretive skating. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.
Star Skaters receive private or semi-private coaching sessions during their ice times. Professional coaching fees are applicable and are not included in the registration fee. Skaters will be billed individually by the coach.
Program Sessions are held on Monday and Friday Nights
TOTAL COST 1 session per week: $486 (Includes Skate Canada Insurance Fee)
TOTAL COST 2 sessions per week: $576 (Includes Skate Canada Insurance Fee)
Power Skating
CanPowerSkate is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. CanPowerSkate provides an alternative to figure skating and is an excellent complement for those athletes playing on hockey or ringette teams.
CanPowerSkate is geared to skaters aged approximately six or older who already have basic forward and backward skating skills and are able to stop on command without use of the boards. Full Hockey/Ringette equipment is required.
Program Sessions are held on Tuesday Mornings (Groups are divided by Age & Skill Level)

TOTAL COST $356 (Includes Skate Canada Insurance Fee)
Bond Requirements – Bond Fee per Family is $100
The following are the Bond requirement options (you select 1 at registration)
- OPTION #1 – FUNDRAISING (2 mandatory Fundraisers each season)
- OPTION #2 – VOLUNTEER (Organize & Hand out delivery of Fundraising Items)
- OPTION #3 – SPONSORSHIP Obtain a sponsorship for the club – 3 Levels of Sponsorship (Gold, Silver or Bronze)
- OPTION #4 – YOUTH VOLUNTEER on Ice Personal Assistant (PA) Minimum age – 10 years
- OPTION #5 – VOLUNTEER Join the Executive Team
A separate Bond Cheque made out to: “Mitchell Skating Club” post-dated to March 31st, 2024.
Please hand in the bond cheque on the first night of skating. Skaters will not be permitted on the ice until Bond Cheque Received.
NOTE: If all volunteer and fundraising requirements are met this cheque will be destroyed.
Payment of Fees
DUE TO EARLY REGISTRATION no Payment is due until August 31st, 2023.
You will receive an invoice for payment 2 weeks prior to the August 31st payment deadline. The invoice will confirm your total payment amount.
To guarantee your spot payment is due by August 31st, 2023.

NOTE:
- If registering more then 1 skater, your invoice will be for the total number of skaters per household.
- Please include Skater Name and which Program Session they are registered for in the decription of the E-Transfer (Ex. Austin Matthews Power Skating)
